As a Mother of three kids (all less than two years apart in age) and former owner of a Day Care Center, I realize the importance of TIME.
The parent is running from the minute she/he wakes up trying to get themselves, the children, the spouse ready and out the door. The baby, the diapers, wipes, formula, siblings and their supplies all need to get through the door at day care on TIME so the parent can beat traffic to get to work on TIME. There is even more stress for the single parent home. Everything is on that parent. If an item is left at home on the counter, there is not TIME to turn back to get it.
The day care provider has that same hectic schedule and needs to be at day care before the first child arrives at 6 A.M. Everything needs to be in place. All food and supplies were purchased over the weekend making what looks like a M-F work week actually a M-S work week. Buying groceries for the day care takes a good half day when TIME is factored in. At LEAST 2 hours of shopping, then returning to the day care to put those items away for the following week which accounts for at least another two hours, not including drive TIME.
